1. What motivated you to create a book review blog?
Way back in the previous milleniumI kept a journal about the books I read. When I learned about this new blogging thing I decided to revive my journal on blogger. Little did I know that people would actually read what I wrote.

2. What do you find most rewarding about book reviewing?
I enjoy the comments I get from readers all over the world.

3. What types of books do you review?
Every book that I read now gets reviewed. I tend to read history, biographies and a bit of light fiction, when I need a break. Lately I’ve been reading a lot on politics, but never any of those ghost written candidate books.

4. In what genre do you consider yourself to have the most expertise?
I’m not an expert. Just an opinionated English major.

5. Is there any type of book that you absolutely will not review?

Absolutely not.

6. Do you accept submissions from self-published authors?
I have never had the opportunity to accept a submission from anyone and I’m not looking for any.

7. Do you accept PDF versions or e-books for review?
God no.

8. Can an author guest blog for you?
That’s an interesting idea. I don’t know. It would depend on who the author was, I guess.

9. Do you host book giveaways?
Not yet. Maybe some day.

10. Do you interview authors?
I haven’t. I used to interview musicians on the radio, so I suppose I could.

11. Do you ever host stops on an organized book tour?
Heaven forbid.

12. What is the average turnaround time for a review, from the time the book arrives in your mailbox until the review is posted?
I tend to do my reading in the evening and often fall asleep with a book over my face. It can take a while. The books don’t usually come in the mailbox anyway.

13. Do you cross-post reviews to Amazon or other sites?
Yes, starting today! Thank you for the idea.

14. Will you notify an author by email when a review is posted?
I would if I had the author’s email address. I did notify an author through MySpace, once.

15. Do you have any specific requirements for review submission?
Don’t expect a response.

16. Where can authors submit review queries and to whom should they be addressed?
See #6 and #15 above. I used to get records, tapeds and CDs in the mail from musicians who wanted to be played on the radio. It got to be a problem. I still have thousands of the things gathering dust.
Blogging is an exiting experiment in direct democracy. Anyone at all, who has regular internet access, can set herself up as a micro-pundit and unleash her opinions on the world. I’m happy to be a very small part of it.
