1. What motivated you to create a book review blog?
I don’t have the best memory. I started to notice that after about two years or so I’d forget half the plot of a book I read, so in a bid to remember things, I decided to blog about books I read. I also wanted to meet people online who liked to read as much as I did and just discuss books.
2. What do you find most rewarding about book reviewing?
Definitely meeting other book lovers. Even if someone disagrees with me, I’m happy that they have something to comment on. Many of my real life friends don’t read the same books I do or don’t read as much, so blogging opens the doors to meeting people who HAVE read what I’m talking about!
3. What types of books do you review?
I read lots of genre books - urban fantasy, young adult, chick lit, and speculative fiction seem to be the top 4 things I read. I will also read romance and horror every so often.
4. In what genre do you consider yourself to have the most expertise?
Urban fantasy
5. Is there any type of book that you absolutely will not review?
Hmm… erotica.
6. Do you accept submissions from self-published authors?
No, sorry.
7. Do you accept PDF versions or e-books for review?
I would read a PDF. I am not sure about ebooks because I don’t have an ebook reader. If i could read it on my computer - then, OK.
8. Can an author guest blog for you?
I don’t have guest blogging on my blog.
9. Do you host book giveaways?
I have in the past (once so far!) and plan to again. So not that often, but hope to do it again.
10. Do you interview authors?
No, but I’ll link to author interviews!
11. Do you ever host stops on an organized book tour?
No, I haven’t tried this yet.
12. What is the average turnaround time for a review, from the time the book arrives in your mailbox until the review is posted?
About a couple of weeks to a month.
13. Do you cross-post reviews to Amazon or other sites?
I crosspost an abbreviated version to paperbackswap and goodreads
14. Will you notify an author by email when a review is posted?
The *one* author who sent me a book asking me to review it, I emailed her to tell her I posted a review!
15. Do you have any specific requirements for review submission?
Not that I can think of.
16. Where can authors submit review queries and to whom should they be addressed?
